ARCWAY Cockpit

Toolbar

The toolbar offers you various helpers to assist you:

Werkzeugleiste

1 - Search

Enter a keyword or any other hint. The document containers will be filtered on the entered string at time of the input.

2 - Create new Document Container Set

Using this button will open a dialog for creating a new document container set. Enter the name of the set you want to create in the dialog and confirm your changes with clicking the button Finish

3 - Check File Availability

The link validator validates all web and document links. The result is then shown in the last column of the table. Thus, you can quickly check for broken links.

4 - Filter

Here you can define filters for the document view.

5 - Link With Other Views

Enabling this button will link this view with other views. This means that when a certain document container set, document container or document is selected within any other view it will also be shown as selected within this view.

6 - Sorting By Column

Sorts the columns automatically. Uses the names of the documents containers as the sort criteria.

7 - Path Alignment

The document module manages links to document, not the actual documents. Because of this it is possible that a document link is valid on one machine, but invalid on another machine. The path alignment tool lets you define local mappings. To illustrate its use consider the following scenario: Suppose there is a network drive Z: which contains the document archive at Z:/ProjectDocuments. All documents are stored in that folder and all team members can access the network drive. Now suppose you are working on a laptop and are not connected to the network of your organization. You have made a copy of the document archive at C:/OffisteCopy/Project, but all the links in the project point to the network location. With the path alignment tool you can define a mapping to use your local storage location.
