Drawing Handles can be used as a fast and effective tool for drawing
process chains.
Usually an EPC starts with a start event that will be followed
by an alternating sequence of process steps and events. After the start
event has been inserted from the templates small icons will be shown below
the event.
Clicking one of the handles will insert the corresponding plan element and connect it to the start event.
Dragging one of the handles will create a preview of the plan element similar to the preview that appears when pasting plan elements from the clipboard. The control flow that will connect the original and the new plan element is already anchored to both plan elements. Now, the new element can be placed without losing the connection to the original plan element. Dropping the plan element will draw it on the plan at the corresponding position.
New plan elements will be resized according to the size of their predecessors. For drawing larger events or process steps to use longer names, simply enlarge the start event in the process chain and all following plan elements that are going to be created with drawing handles will adopt to that size.
