InfoLinks
InfoLinks connect plan elements with
project data items, e.g. requirements or notes.
Creating InfoLinks
Creating InfoLinks via Drag'n'Drop
The most common way to create an InfoLink is to drag project data items onto a
plan element. To do that...
- Open the plan that contains the plan elements for which you
wish to create InfoLinks
- Select the project data items in the Project Data View
- Drag the selected items with the left mouse button and drop
them on the desired plan element in the plan
Creating InfoLinks by Creating new Project Data Items
Another way to create an InfoLink is
by creating a new project data item in the Editor. To do that ...
- Open the plan containing the plan elements which you want to
link with new project data items.
- Select the plan element for which you wish to create a project
data item and InfoLink and right-click
it
- Click on New in the context menu and
select the type of project data item you wish to create
- The project data item will be created as well as an InfoLink that connects the plan element with the
project data item
Browsing InfoLinks
 |
To browse through the InfoLinks and
associated project data items of a plan element select it in the
Editor. The InfoLink View displays the selected plan element
and all its associated InfoLinks and
project data items.
If you click on a project data item in the InfoLink View, the project data item's details
will be displayed in the Details
View.

Navigation with InfoLinks
Finding Plan Elements
 |
InfoLinks can also be used the other
way round: Given a project data item you can figure out which plan
elements it is associated with. This is done by the InfoLink View.
When you select some project data, the InfoLink View shows you all the plan elements
that this project data item is associated with. If you select one
of the plan elements, you get a list of plans in the Details View, they have occurrences of the
selected plan element.
|
Highlighting
When you select a project data item in the Project Data View all associated plan elements
will be highlighted in the current Editor.
Deleting InfoLinks
To delete an InfoLink select it in
the InfoLink View and click the
Unlink button.
Note that this only deletes the InfoLink, not the associated project data
item.
Of course, whenever you delete a project data item all
associated InfoLinks will be deleted
automatically.
