The Details View shows you the details of the last item you selected in one of the other views.
If you selected a project data item in the Project Data View or InfoLink View, it will show the details of the project data item.
If you selected a Unique Element in the Repository View or Project Navigator, the Details View shows the list of plans on which the Unique Element occurs. Double-clicking an entry in the list will open the respective plan.
